The Moving Fascia® - Pilates approach

I am Ana Barretxeguren, a Pilates teacher with over 20 years of experience, a movement educator, and a myofascial release practitioner. I’m the creator of Moving Fascia®, a somatic movement method that supports fluidity, eases pain, and restores felt sense through fascia-informed movement and breath.

In my private clinic in Brighton, I work one-to-one with clients seeking to move with more ease, recover from injury, and access greater freedom and vitality through breath. My approach blends Pilates equipment, Moving Fascia® and hands-on support including myofascial release and visceral manipulation.

Everything I teach is rooted in this clinical practice. It’s where the nuances emerge—what works, what lands, what creates lasting change. In this workshop, I’ll be sharing some of the principles, strategies, and yes—my go-to secrets—that I return to again and again to help clients and teachers discover more clarity, connection, and possibility in their movement.

Making complex concepts relatable and applicable

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and have taught embodied anatomy to movement teachers for over 15 years. My curiosity lies in how to bridge science with lived, embodied experience—and I’m committed to making complex anatomical concepts both relatable and applicable.

For Pilates teachers, the Moving Fascia® method brings fascia theory to life, integrating seamlessly with evolved Pilates techniques. This approach supports the body’s connective relationships, offering adaptable tools that enrich proprioceptive responsiveness and enhance interoceptive awareness.
